Patiala: The 26th convocation ceremony of Thapar University, Punjab, is scheduled to be held on November 8, 2012 (Thursday). The venue for the same will be the University Open Air Theatre (COS) of the University campus. As per the notification issued by the University, Shri Gautam Thapar, President, Thapar University and Chairman & CEO, Avantha Group, will preside over the function.
All students who have graduated during the year 2012 will be presented degrees and medals during the ceremony. Therefore, all those students who want to get their degrees during the ceremony are required to register themselves using the proforma available on the University’s official website: http://www.thapar.edu/. One can download the prescribed proforma by visiting the direct link: http://www.thapar.edu/images/news/proforma-internet%20(1).pdf. However, candidates should also confirm their arrival via e-mail at email ID: kr_a@thapar.edu.
In addition, the convocation rehearsal will be conducted on November 7, 2012 at 5.00 pm at the mentioned venue. It is mandatory for every candidate to attend the rehearsal failing which costumes will not be issued and degrees not awarded. The candidates, who do not attend the convocation for any of their personal reasons, shall be issued degree in absentia on payment (Rs 500). Proforma for applying for issue of degree in absentia can also be downloaded from the official website of the University.
