Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), Guntur, Andhra Pradesh is one of the well –known universities of the state. The University was inaugurated on 11th September, 1976 by the former President of India, Sri Fakruddin Ali Ahmed.
It is an affiliating University founded in 1976, which commenced only with 10 post-graduate degree level courses in the University College.
