Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University, Kolkata, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into Doctorate of Philosophy [PhD (Sc)] in Computer Science, to be offered in the upcoming session 2013. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written examination, followed by interview, to be conducted by the University department.
Note: Candidates who have already passed UGC / CSIR (JRF) examinations / NET / SET / SLET / GATE / Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations or obtained M Tech / ME degree in Computer Science & Engineering or equivalent examination need not appear for the written test. However, they will have to appear for the interview.

The written test is scheduled to be held on March 16, 2013.

How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to download the prescribed application form from the University’s official website: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/. The direct link to download the prescribed application form is: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/admission%20notice/Form-CSE.pdf. Application fee amounting Rs 100 can be paid through a challan available through different University Cash counters. The challan is to be duly forwarded through the Head of the Department (HoD), Department of Computer Science & Engineering.
The duly filled in and completed application form along with a copy of the paid challan should be submitted to the office of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Calcutta, 92 Acharya Prafulla Chandra Road, Kolkata - 700009, latest by February 14, 2013.
