Calcutta University has invited applications for admissions into PhD (Tech.) Programme in Textile Technology, for the academic session 2013-2014.
The eligibility prescribed is that candidate must be a Master of Technology in Textile Technology or equivalent in relevant or allied stream relevant to Textile Technology or with Degree in Bachelor of Technology or Engineering in Textile Technology, Fibre Technology or Fibre Technology (Jute), Jute and Fibre Technology or equivalent in allied stream relevant to Textile Technology (with or without GATE).
The B. Tech. candidates with good academic record must possess two years experience in Research & Development/Teaching and two published research papers in peer reviewed journals and shall have to qualify in the written PhD Admission Test (PAT).
Note: The M. Tech. candidates need not to appear in the Ph. D. Admission Test, but has to appear in the interview.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the PhD Admission Test followed by an Interview.

Interested candidates can download the application form from the University’s official website. Filled-in application form (to be downloaded from the University website : www.caluniv.ac.in or from the departmental website: www.ijtindia.org) may be sent super scribing on the envelop “Ph. D. Registration Aspirant in Textile Technology”, to the Head, Department of Jute and Fibre Technology, University of Calcutta University, Institute of Jute Technology, 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata-700019 on or before the last date mentioned.
The filled-in application form must be submitted with a copy of the receipt of the prescribed fee of Rs 100 (Rupees one hundred only) paid in the Cash Counter of the University by Challan or a Demand Draft of Rs. 100.00 (Rupees one hundred only) in favor of “University of Calcutta” and payable at Kolkata.
