CMAT February 2013 Exam Begin from Today

New Delhi: The examination schedule for Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) February 2013 has begun from today. As per the pre-decided schedule, the test window will remain open till February 25. CMAT is the computer based (online) national level common entrance test, conducted by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) for admissions to Post Graduate programmes, in management offered by AICTE approved management institutes. AICTE is the statutory body and a national-level council for technical education, under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development of India.

According to officials, over 20,000-odd aspirants have registered and will appear for the test at over 60 test centres, across the country. The results of CMAT February 2013 will be declared on March 13. The online application forms for the CMAT February 2013 exam were made available to candidates from November 1, 2012 to January 13, this year. As per sources, the exam paper will be of three hour duration, during which a candidate will be required to answer 100 questions, carrying 4 marks each. Candidates must carefully answer each question, as it has also been notified that, there is a provision of negative marking for every wrong answer.

Officially, CMAT is conducted twice a year - once in February (CMAT 2) and then again in September (CMAT 1). However, specifically for this year, the council has decided to hold an additional CMAT during the month of May. The test will be held sometime near mid of May but the final schedule is yet to be decided. It is notified that the test (in May) is particularly being conducted for MBA (Master of Business Administration) aspirants from Karnataka, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh (UP), who were not able to apply early enough for CMAT February 2013. According to official sources, this decision has been taken to give another opportunity to students from these states, which have ascribed to AICTE, recently.
