Delhi University Welcomes Class of 2013

On Wednesday 24 July 2013, Delhi University welcomed the first batch of newly launched four-year undergraduate course. Colleges welcomed freshers through interesting songs and plays to make the students comfortable. Students of the four year undergraduate programme were greeted with chocolates, flowers, cakes and live musical performances across different DU colleges.
 
While the orientation programme was already done on 23 July in most of the colleges hence classes in these colleges will start right away.
 
At Lady Shri Ram College the college started with cultural programmes and thereafter a short tree plantation programme was organized with support from students in the college campus. Students were welcomed in a very traditional way with rangoli and diyas. Principal P.C Jain delivered the orientation speech.
 
In several colleges like St Stephen’s, IP and Maharaja Agrasen orientation was done on 23 July. At St Stephen’s, the orientation started with the principal of the college, Valson Thampu, addressing the students and he described the tradition of the college, its spiritual foundation, the work culture and campus.
 
At Mirinda House students gathered at administration office to collect information handbook, seniors in the college guided juniors on the course materials and activity clubs.
 
In other DU colleges after the orientation programme many students enquired about extracurricular activities and collected timetable and syllabus with the help of seniors.
