Good news for students aspiring to join the Bachelor with Honours in Commerce course at Delhi University. From this year onwards, Mathematics won't be required for admissions into four year Bachelor with Honours course in Commerce at Delhi University. As per sources, this was notified through an official announcement from the University of Delhi.
Moreover, sources have mentioned that, from this year, the admission to the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) in Commerce will now be for Bachelor with Honours in Commerce. Students will be enrolled for admissions into this programme on the basis of Discipline I (Commerce). Besides, till last year, maximum colleges were not offering admissions to students in the Honours Programme of Commerce (B. Com (Honours) without the subject Mathematics. As a result, this has resulted in a large number of students who had pursued commerce without Mathematics in their class 12 level being deprived of admission in different colleges.
Also, DU in its official announcement has stated that it is decided that requirement of Mathematics for all categories of students will be removed for admission into the Bachelor with Honours in Commerce. Therefore, inclusion of Mathematics will not be additional eligibility criteria for admission to Bachelor with Honours course in Commerce.
