Visakhapatnam: This year’s Education Common Entrance Test shall take place on June 3, 2013. This date was officially declared by Professor GSN Raju, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Andhra University (AU) and Chairman of EdCET 2013 Advisory Committee, after a recent committee meeting. Every year, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) conducts the EdCET in order to select eligible candidates for admissions into B Ed (Bachelor of Education) regular course, in colleges throughout Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing the press conference, Raju informed that though there is no change in the syllabus, examination pattern and fee (which is Rs 150) of the test, but, this year, the hall tickets will exclusively be issued online. In addition, candidates will need to write their mobile number and mail id, in the registration / application form.
He further informed, that two more test centres have been added for EdCET 2013 i.e. at Tekkali in Srikakulam district, and Wanaparthy in Mahabubnagar district. Raju went on to pointed out that till now, admission into B Ed (Special Education) course of Dr B R Ambedkar University, Srikakulam, was done through AU CET, but this year, candidates will be admitted through EdCET 2013.
Along with the VC, P. Jayaprakash Rao, Chairman of APSCHE; Nimma Venkata Rao, Convenor of EdCET 2013; A.V. Prasada Rao and K. Rammohan Rao, the Rector and Registrar of AU respectively, were also there at the press conference. The official notification announcing the complete details about EdCET 2013 will be issued on council’s website: http://www.apsche.org/, on March 4. However, the submission of online applications will begin from March 8.
The last date for submission of online applications is April 22, whereas with a fine of Rs500, the process can be concluded till, April 30. The hall-tickets / admit cards will be downloadable from, May 16. The official announcement also stated that the ranks for EdCET 2013 will be announced on, June 21.
