Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2014

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2014 will be counducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, which is the organizing institute this year. GATE is an all India examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology. The eight GATE zones are:

• Zone 1: Indian Institute of Science Bangalore
• Zone 2: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
• Zone 3: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
• Zone 4: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati
• Zone 5: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
• Zone 6: Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
• Zone 7: Indian Institute of Technology Madras
• Zone 8: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee
 
Important Dates

GATE online application processing system (GOAPS) website opens for enrolment and application filling on 2nd September, 2013
Last date for enrolment is 1st October, 2013
Last date for submission of Application is 3rd October, 2013
Admit card will be available on 18th December, 2013
GATE 2014 examination will be conducted between 1st February, 2014 and 2nd March, 2014
 
Exam Pattern

The candidate can apply for only one of the 21 papers. All papers will contain few questions that test the General Aptitude, Language and analytical skills, apart from the core subject of the paper. The GATE examination will consist of a single paper of three hour duration and 65 questions carrying 100 marks. The question paper would consist of both numerical answer type questions and multiple choice questions.
