New Delhi: As the dates for Haryana Public Service Commission’s Assistant Engineer Examination and Union Public Service Commissions Engineering Services Examination are clashing with each other, the candidates looking ahead for engineering service in Haryana are in a confused state. A huge number of candidates, who have registered with HPSC Assistant Engineering Exam, have also enrolled for the UPSC Engineering Services Examination.
UPSC Assistant Engineer Examination is scheduled to be held from June 28, 2013 to June 30, 2013, while the HPSC Exam is being conducted on June 30, 2013. The HPSC exam will be held at Panchkula centers, while the UPSC Exam will be conducted at many centers around the country.
HPSC is conducting examination for the posts of Assistant Engineers in Electrical, Civil and Mechanical Branches. As per sources, the aspirants are saying that since the level of HPSC exam is lower than that of the UPSC, the exam should be postponed to a later date, hence enabling the candidates from Haryana to appear for both the exams.
Ishan Singh Siwach, CRPF, has stated, the clashing of dates will divest Haryana aspirants of wither of the exam. He also said that the UPSC exam is of a higher level, and those who prepared for it will have a more probability to crack the HPSC exam, but in case if candidate has decided to appear for the UPSC exam, they will have to leave home examination. As per sources, the HPSC can take a decision to postpone the Assistant Engineer Examination to a later date, so that all the desirable candidates can appear for both the exams.
