Dehradun: The 2nd convocation ceremony of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust University (HIHT University), located at Rishikesh-Dehradun Highway, Uttarakhand, is scheduled to be celebrated tomorrow i.e. on January 30, 2013 at 11:30 hrs. The ceremony will be conducted at the University campus. All eligible candidates who graduated during the last session will be awarded respective degrees at the ceremony.
As per the notification issued on the University’s official website, Hon’ble Shri Satyanarayan Gangaram Pitroda (Sam Pitroda), Advisor to Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure & Innovations, has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest of the occasion and deliver the Convocation Address. However, Prof. S.K. Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (VC), HNB Garhwal University, will grace the event as Guest of Honour.
Sited amidst the lush green valley of Dehradun in Uttarakhand, HIHT University, recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), is one of the premier universities of India. The University was initiated in 1994 by the yogi, scientist, philosopher, philanthropist, researcher and writer, HH Dr Swami Rama under Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT). However, in the year 2007, it was awarded the status of a deemed university by the Government of India.
