Dhanbad: The 35th annual convocation ceremony of Indian School of Mines Dhanbad (ISM Dhanbad), located in Jharkhand, is scheduled to be held on February 23, 2013 (Saturday). The convocation is being conducted to facilitate the students passed out in the previous year.
As per the notification issued by the Institute, Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, the Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Government of India, has consented to grace the event as Chief Guest. Established in the year 1926, Indian School of Mines Dhanbad, is one of the premier engineering institutions of India. However, it was in 1996-97, when ISM Dhanbad was granted the status of Deemed University under the UGC Act (of 1991). Spread over an area of over 88 hectares, this esteemed Institute offers various post graduate (PG) and under graduate (UG) courses, in the field of engineering.
