The last date of applying for admissions into the Advanced Diploma in Environmental Engineering (ADEE) at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for the academic year 2013 will be closed on June 10, 2013. This year, AMU has re-introduced the Advanced Diploma in Environmental Engineering (ADEE) programme in the University Polytechnic (Boys). The University has re-introduced the programme after recognizing the emerging challenges for environmentally sustainable development.
It is a unique course of one year (2 Semester) duration. The progarmme will commence with an initial intake of 20 students. Candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks in qualifying examination, written test and interview. The written test and interview is scheduled to be June 30, 2013 (Sunday) (From 10.00 am onwards).
The eligibility prescribed for admissions into the progarmme is that the applicant must be B.Sc (Science) / B.Sc Life Sciences with not less than 55% marks in the aggregate or
Diploma in Engineering with First Division in Civil/ Civil Construction Technology/ Mechanical/ Architectural Assistantship/ Chemical/ Environmental/ Drafting & Designing (Civil)/Drafting & Designing (Mechanical)/Mechanical-Production/ Mechanical-RAC
According to a release issued by the University, it is projected that the students pursuing this course will have a broader perception of the emerging environmental issues and can occupy leadership positions in the environmental profession in future. Moreover, it also lays emphasis on entrepreneurship development.
Furthermore, as per the release, the University Polytechnic comprise of 78 faculty members supported by over 100 technical staff. Besides, the programme will be run by an experienced faculty of active researchers and practitioners including 5 teachers possessing Environmental Engineering qualification out of which 4 are PhD degree holders.
