NEET UG 2013 is rescheduled to be held on May 18, 2013, in the state of Karnataka only. The CBSE with the approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, has announced that the NEET UG 2013 has been postponed. The test has been postponed because of the Legislative Assembly elections of Karnataka, which will take place on May 5, 2013.
The CBSE has decided to postpone the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2013 for under graduate medical courses in order to avoid any inconvenience of the candidates as well as the public in Karnataka. As per sources, about 40,000 medical aspirants are going to take the test. Karnataka has 7 centers in its 5 cities - Bangalore, Belgaum, Mangalore, Gulbarga and Davangere.
However, the NEET UG 2013 will be conducted on May 5, 2013 in the remaining states of India and abroad, according to the schedule proposed earlier. The entrance is only postponed in the state of Karnataka due to the clash of the date between the NEET UG 2013 and Karnataka Polls.
The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in the academic session 2013-14.
