SAT January 2013 Results Out

The results of Scholastic Aptitude Test, also known as SAT for January 2013, were announced on February 14, 2013. All those students who have appeared for the test can check their results as well as obtain their scores, by visiting the board’s official website: http://www.collegeboard.org/. SAT is an internationally recognized college admission test, which evaluates one’s knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics as part of the admission procedure to various colleges in the United States of America (USA). This test is conducted by College Board, a not-for-profit education organization, which intends to offer equal opportunity to every student, to showcase his/her knowledge attained at the school level.
 
Usually, this globally recognized test (SAT Reasoning Test or SAT subjects Test or both) is taken by high school juniors and seniors in the USA. However, Indian students who have successfully completed their 12 years of school education, from any recognized Indian board, are also eligible to take the test for admissions into various American colleges.
 
Harvard University, Stanford University, Yale University, Princeton University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Columbia University, Brown University etc. are some of the top Universities in the USA, which accept SAT scores for admissions. Every year, SAT is offered seven times in the US, while, six times internationally. The test is offered in the month of October, November, December, January, March (US only), May and June. The next SAT will be held on March 9, 2013. Registrations are open for the same.
 
In India, Shiv Nadar University (SNU), in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University has launched a global dual degree engineering programme. In order to apply for the same, one needs to obtain SAT scores. However, apart from SAT scores, candidates would also be required to obtain Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores.
