Bhopal: With its main campus at Pune, Symbiosis Group is planning to set up a new vocational University in Madhya Pradesh. The decision was announced by Swati Majumdar, Director of Symbiosis Open University, also known as Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL), during a meeting with MP Chief Minister (CM) Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The CM confirmed the news and said, that the state government will extend its full hearted cooperation in the establishment of this, vocational university in Madhya Pradesh. The meeting was held in the state capital, recently. Chouhan also affirmed that Symbiosis would soon, select land for the proposed university. He further added that special efforts are underway to provide jobs to youths, and for this skill development is the need of the hour.
Majumdar echoed the sentiment and said that Symbiosis desires to establish a skill development-based vocational university. Skill development among the youth of the state will be their primary focus. As per sources, Additional Chief Secretary PK Dash, Additional Chief Secretary Ajita Bajpai Pandey, Secretary Revenue Ajit Kesri, Principal Secretary to CM Manoj Shrivastava and Secretary to CM, SK Mishra were also present on the occasion.
