Delhi University Takes Initiative to Bridge the Language Gap

New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) will offer a basic level proficiency course in Hindi language. The course is spread over a period of three months and the classes for the same will be conducted on alternate days, for two hours each, after regular classes. It will draw eminent instructors from DU's faculty of Hindi Literature and is open for admission to all. The programme commences on August 15. It will be especially beneficial for the students belonging to North East states, like Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland.

Delhi University’s (DUs) immense popularity draws numerous students every year, from every nook and corner of India as well as abroad. Students joining DU are full of notions of an exciting college life. However, it is not always a pleasant experience for outstation students, especially those who are not well versed in the local language.

Considering the fact, DU has decided to offer this programme in Hindi, to bridge the language gap. A new add-on course in conversational Hindi, a component of the popular Hindi translation course introduced by Miranda House (MH) last year, will also go a long way in helping those students.
