DU Offers Five Skill Enhancement Course

New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) students are given yet another chance to enhance their skills, with the introduction of new courses. DU’s Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC), Arts Faculty, offers programmes in five new disciplines: News Reading and Cinematography (Media Studies); Information and Communication Technologies (ICT); Disability and Human Rights; English (Basic and Advanced Level); and Sign Language and Interpretation.
 
Dr Nisha Singh, officer on special duty EOC, said that except for ICT, these programmes are meant for all undergraduate students (disabled or otherwise). She mentioned that EOC have added a small capsule on disability studies in all these courses, to make young people aware of disability. According to Dr Nisha Sing these programmes are career-oriented to an extent.
 
In case, a worthy candidate in unable to pay, there is a provision of fee waiver, too. Last date for application is January 4, 2010, and the session begins on January 11, 2010.
