New Delhi: Year 2009, Ramjas tops the chart of most preferred college with the highest number of applicants.Last year it was Hindu College that received the maximum number of applications.

As per the records, the college received a total 99,500 applications from students competing for its courses, beating all other colleges of Delhi University. Hansraj College, very high on popularity charts received 92,500 applications while GTB Khalsa College received 85,500 applications.

However, as per the sources, there are various reasons behind the growing demand of Ramjas. The college offers hostels for both girls and boys and its cut-off percentages last year were lower. G S Tuteja, Deputy Dean of Student Welfare said that Ramjas College also offers a huge number of courses. It is unfair to determine the popularity of a college based on just the number of applications as there are various factors that lead to the numbers.
