AMU Organizes The Biggest Tech Fest TAAMEER 2010

Aligarh: Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has recently organized the biggest tech fest - Taameer 2010. As per sources, more than five hundred students from different colleges and universities from across the country took part in the fest.
 
Further, sources told that students from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, Jamia Millia Islamia, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Punjab Engineering College, Integral University, Galgotia Group of Institution, Karunya University, Kerala and AMU participated in the event.
 
Professor S Abrar Hasan, Dean, Faculty of Medicine AMU, was the Chief Guest. He underlined the rich tradition and culture of the university, while addressing the inaugural session. S M A Rizvi, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology AMU, congratulated the teachers and students for organizing the national level grand tech fest.
 
As per sources, the fest was commenced with prelim of Crystal Cube. Ibadur Rahman, Student Convener of the programme received the participants. Whereas, Dr. Masroor Alam, the teacher incharge of the fest proposed the vote of thanks. The event was concluded with the AD-MAD Show.
 
In collaboration with Tameer 2010, another workshop on Disaster Management was organized by Centre of Disaster Management. Sources told that the more than 250 students from different departments of the university attended the workshop on Disaster Management.

Dr. Amir Ali Khan of National Institute of Disaster Management, Dr. M Athar Ansari, Chairman of the Department of Community Medicine and Dr. Shahid Farooq of the Geology Department were the speakers at the workshop. As per sources, General Quiz, Debate, Bridge Design, Dares, Lime Print, and Treasure Hunt etc. were organized on the second day of the workshop.
 
In addition, a workshop on Vedic Mathematics organized by S M Asjad, Convener (Administration) and Mohd. Zain Alam Zaidi. The event, which was proved to be a very interesting programme, was attended by over 200 students. Merit Certificates and Trophies were distributed to the students in the end.
