Anna University of Technology Tirunelveli was established on 17th September 2007 by a Tamilnadu Government Act No.28 of 2007. Anna University of Technology Tirunelveli has also established two University Colleges of Engineering, at Thoothukudi and Nagercoil during the academic year 2009-10.
