DU Enrollment Under Sports Quota to Be Stricter

New Delhi: This year, enrollment under sports quota at Delhi University (DU) will be strict.As per sources, all the DU affiliated colleges have decided to rope in experts to manage the sports assessment which is going to be stricter this year as compared to earlier years.
 
DU affiliated all colleges' reserve 5% of the seats in every course for students who wish to apply on the basis of their accomplishment in sports or extra-curricular activities (ECA) such as music, singing, dance, drama, debating, poetry, quizzing etc.
 
The application form for the sports and ECA quota will be available at most of DU affiliated colleges from June 21, 2011, when the second cutoff list is expected to be announced. Colleges will evaluate students who apply under these categories on the basis of certificates and live presentation. The selected candidates will then be required to meet the cutoff for their chosen course.
 
From June 21, 2011, the application forms for the sports and ECA quota will be available at most colleges when the second cutoff list is expected to be announced. Moreover, the colleges will assess students applying under these categories on the basis of certificates and live presentation. Thereafter, the selected candidates will have to meet the cutoff for their desired course.
 
According to V.K. Kawatra, Principal of Hansraj College, the college will come out with the sports and ECA quota forms from June 21, 2011. He also added that the schedule for the trials is likely to be decided by Tuesday, i.e. June 14, 2011.
 
Sources informed that at Hindu College, the sports and ECA quota forms will be made available from June 21 to 27. College principal Vinay Kumar Srivastava has informed that June 28 to 30 has been decided as the tentative time for conduction of the sports assessment.
