DU Semester Exam Results to be Out by December End

New Delhi: The first season of semester examination in one of the most esteemed universities in India, Delhi University (DU), New Delhi, has ended. After the conduct of the assessments, now enters the evaluation process. And DU is planning to announce the results soon, most likely by the next fortnight. The University had transformed, for the first time, the academic session into semester system this year.

With the month of December coming to an end soon, DU is left with very short time to review the answer sheets and produce the results, before the start of the next semester. As per DU officials, accepting the semester system is tough job for the teachers. While the number of students who took the examinations is 4,00,000, the number of lecturers assigned to evaluate the answer sheets is only 4000. As such, they are urged to work overtime and follow a strict schedule in order to announce the results on time.

Sources further inform that the evaluation centers are open on Sundays so that the anticipated date of result declaration can be met with. The top management has stepped forward to supervise the centralized evaluation of answer sheets. This will further help the University to break the common misconception of declaring results late.

The major reason for most teachers opposing the concept of semester system was the late declaration of results every year. The implementation of the new semester system has further become a challenge for all lecturers, as they will have to check the answer sheets twice a year. The management is hoping to complete the process of evaluation smoothly after the first phase i.e. semester exams, was successfully concluded.
