IIM-Kozhikode Enrolls 35% Female Students

Kozhikode: This year, Indian Institute of Management - Kozhikode (IIM- Kozhikode) has enrolled 35% female students for its post-graduate programme, to be offered in the session 2011-2013.
 
As per sources, of the total intake of 341 students, 121 are female. Last year, the intake of female students was 30 % only. IIM- Director Prof Debasish Chatterjee said that of the 121 women students admitted, 84 have CAT percentile between 90 and 100.
 
He said that giving more importance to the enrollment of female students has become a trend in the institute, since last year, when the institute had maximum number of students among all IIMs. He said that compared to boys, girls of the last batch were better placed during the summer placements. Besides, girls had brought in better variety both in the learning environment and their academic and social profiles.
