IIMs Increase Cut-Offs for 2011 Batch

Bangalore: The Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) have increased the cut-off percentile for the 2011 batch. As per sources, entry of the candidates into the prestigious IIMs would be a difficult task as the cut-off for this year is comparatively high from the previous year i.e. 2010. Further, sources informed that the cut-off percentage of IIM-Ranchi for 2010 was 99.65, while, the same for this year is 99.66.
 
Furthermore, sources told that cut-off for admission in IIM-Calcutta this year is 99.59%. IIM-Ahmedabad has declared that nearly 540 aspirants who have secured an overall percentile higher than 99 and higher than 94 in each individual section would be called for personal interviews. IIM-Lucknow has also increased the weightage of CAT by 7.5%. Earlier, the weightage was 30%, which has now increased to 37.5%.
 
As per sources, IIM-Lucknow has also raised the fee from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. Moreover, sources informed that IIM-Kozhikode has decided to increase the weightage of CAT to 50%, 15% to Group Discussion (GD) and social skills, 25% to Personal Interview (PI) and 10% to writing task. In addition, sources informed that the Directors of IIMs will going to meet soon in order to discuss about holding joint GD and PI.
