Lucknow: Eight candidates who are engineers have scored perfect 100% marks in Indian Institutes of Management's (IIM) Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010. Himanshu Rai, CAT 2010 Convener, told the sources that of the eight engineers, two are from Mumbai and one each from Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Indore.
As per sources, IIM-Kolkata and IIM-Lucknow had the responsibility of organizing CAT 2010. Further, sources told that the trend related to the results indicates that CAT 2010 was tough. An official said that while a total of 204267 candidates registered for CAT 2010, 186238 candidates appeared for the online test that was organized in two lots from October 27, 2010 to November 24, 2010.
As per sources, a total of 40 sets of question papers were prepared for the candidates. CAT is an entrance test conducted every year, for those who want to pursue Postgraduate (PG) degree or diploma course in the field of management from any of the 10 prestigious IIMs. Other business schools apart from IIMs also accept CAT scores for admission into the aforementioned courses.
