Jamia to Celebrate its 91st Foundation Day Tomorrow

New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) will celebrate its 91st Foundation Day tomorrow i.e. on October 29, 2011. The Foundation Day celebrations will begin at 9.30 am outside MA Ansari Auditorium, Jamia Millia Islamia.
 
As per the press release issued, Chief Guest Mr. Sachin Pilot, Hon.’ble Minister of State for Communication & Information Technology, Govt. of India, along with Mr. Najeeb Jung, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia, will receive the Guard of Honour by NCC Cadets of Jamia. Besides, this will be followed by a Flag Hoisting Ceremony by Mr. Sachin Pilot and a Foundation Day Function at MA Ansari Auditorium which has been traditionally organized by the Jamia Middle School.
 
As part of the celebrations, the University will also hold a Foundation Day Lecture on “Youth for Democracy and Secularism” by Shri. Sitaram Yechuri. The Lecture will be held at 3.00 pm in Edward W. Said Hall, Main Administrative Block, Jamia Millia Islamia. The celebrations will conclude with a Day/Night Cricket Match between Jamia Staff XI and Sports Journalists, which will be played at 5.30 pm in the Cricket Ground, University Sports Complex, Jamia Millia Islamia.
