Admission Process to Meta University Courses to Begin from October 29

New Delhi: The admission process to the first course under Meta University concept is likely to start from October 29, 2012. The Meta University concept is being offered jointly by Delhi University (DU) and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI). The announcement for the commencement of admissions was made by the universities, recently. The course will be administered from the Cluster Innovation Centre, Rugby Sevens Building, Delhi University. There will be 20 seats in total, 10 each in both the universities.
 
According to sources, the application process for a two-year joint degree programme, namely, Master of Mathematics Education (equivalent to M Sc Mathematics Education), for the academic session 2012-13 will begin from October 29. The last date for submission of application form will be November 14, 2012.
 
The selection of eligible candidates will be made on the basis of their performance in the all India entrance test, followed by interviews, to be conducted by the universities. As per the admission schedule, the entrance test will be conducted on December 2, 2012 and the results will be declared on December 6, 2012. The interviews of short-listed candidates will follow up on December 11 and 12, while the final results will be declared on December 13. The classes for the first semester will start from January 3, 2013.

As far as the eligibility criterion is concerned, any graduate who has qualified at least two full-fledged papers in mathematics at the undergraduate level is adequate to apply for the course.
