AICTE To Introduce Two New Management Programmes

New Delhi: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, is all set to introduce two new management programmes for students who can enroll after class XII. The Council made an announcement for the dual-degree programme in management and an integrated management course in a recently held press meet.

While announcing the same, S S Mantha, AICTE Chairman, said that under the programme, a management aspirant can get dual degrees at graduate and post-graduate levels, with the option of taking a break after the third and fourth year for industry training. He further clarified that the five-year programme will allow students to get hands-on experience, while retaining their seat to pursue the degree of their choice up to post-graduate (PG) level.

Mantha explained that a student can take up a job after completing his or her three-year bachelor programme in management or can continue one year of the master’s programme, get accumulated credit for advanced management and then opt for the job. A student can then come back after a year’s experience and complete the final year leading to masters in management.

He also informed that there will be separate tests for enrolment into the dual course, the dates of which will be announced soon. However, explaining about the integrated management programme, he said that the course can be pursued by engineering, architecture, pharmacy or hotel management students under the technical stream.

In addition, admission to this integrated programme will be done on the basis of candidates' performance in the existing entrance tests. The programme will be of five-year duration, including 18 months of technical course (either in pharmacy, architecture or engineering) and six months of industry internship.
