Department of Microbiology, University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University, West Bengal, has invited application from eligible Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences and Physical Sciences post graduated students, for admission into PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programme in Microbiology, to be offered in the ensuing academic session 2012 (amended). Admission will be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the written test, followed by interview, to be conducted by the University.
Note: Candidates with valid NET/GATE score are not required to appear in the admission test, however, they need to qualify in the interviews.
Date of Exam
Written examination is scheduled to be held on February 1, 2012 at 11.00 am.
The interview of successful candidates will be held on February 3, 2012 at 3.00 pm.

The duly filled in application form in the prescribed proforma, along with a challan of Rs 100, payable at the Sales Counter in College Street Campus or Ballygunge Campus of the University, should be submitted at the office of the Department of Microbiology, University of Calcutta, latest by January 25, 2012.
