DU Department of English Publishes CATE 2012 Results Today

Delhi: Department of English, Delhi University (DU), has published the Combined Aptitude Test for English 2012, also known as CATE, results / rank list today i.e. on June 22, 2012. Results / merit list / rank list is made available on the University’s official website: http://www.du.ac.in/
 
CATE 2012 was conducted on June 9, 2012 at 11.00 am across 22 centres in the city. All candidates, who appeared for DU CATE 2012, can check their respective results by visiting the aforementioned website. As per sources, 5408 general category candidates and over 1270 OBC candidates have made it to the merit list. This year, over 14,000 aspirants had appeared for CATE for admission to BA (honours) English in the participating colleges. Colleges accepting CATE are Bharati, DCAC, Hindu, Indraprastha, Janaki Devi, Kamala Nehru, Kirori Mal, Lady Shri Ram, Miranda House, Maharaja Agrasen, Rajdhani, Shivaji, Satyawati (Morning), Satyawati (evening), Shyam Lal, Swami Shraddhanand, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Zakir Husain (Morning) and Zakir Husain (Evening).
 
Explaining the admission procedure, a senior DU official said that these participating colleges will declare their cutoffs on June 26 based on the consolidated CATE score which is arrived at by taking 70% of marks scored in CATE and 30% of class XII marks. Candidates belonging to SC and ST are exempted from CATE. All other colleges will admit aspirants on the basis of class XII marks only.
