Institute of Agricultural Science, University of Calcutta, Kolkata, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admissions into Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) programme in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science. The course is being offered by the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science of the University. Admissions will be made on the basis of candidates' performance in the Research Eligibility Test (RET), followed by interview, to be conducted by the University department.
Note: Candidates who have already passed JRF / NET / SET or any other equivalent examination or have passed M Phil, need not appear for the admission test. They can directly submit a statement of purpose or research in brief and appear in the interview..

Interested candidates are required to download the prescribed application format, from the University’s official website: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/. The application fee is Rs 100, which can be paid through a challan (obtainable from the University). The duly filled in application form, along with all the requisite documents (details given on the website), must be submitted, latest by February 26, 2013.
