DTU to Start Admission From April 8

New Delhi: The Delhi Technological University (DTU) will start admission procedure for B Tech, M Tech and PhD programmes from April 8 onwards. As per sources, admission in undergraduate programme of the University will be done on the basis of merit obtained in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). However, Candidates’ admission in M Tech programme will be made on the basis of scores obtained in GATE, followed by interview.
 
Admission procedure will be carried out online through the official admission portal of the University: http://www.dtuadmissions.nic.in/. Moreover, the counseling for the admission will also be conducted online on the abovementioned website of the University.
 
The online system will ease admission and help students in completing the whole procedure by following few simple steps. Through online admission link, candidates will be able to register for admission and submit their choices of preferred branches. Also, they will be able to track their admission status from anywhere by visiting the aforementioned official admission link of the University.
 
DTU offers 15 undergraduate and 17 postgraduate courses. B Tech programme of the University is imparted in the foremost engineering streams, such as Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. However, M Tech is offered in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering and VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. From this year, the number of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) fellowship has been increased from 50 to 100.
 
As per the norms prescribed by the University, candidates who have been declared for the central counseling and have secured minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will only be considered for admission. Being a state University, DTU gives preference to the Delhi students and about 80% seats are reserved for the residents of Delhi.
 

Taking a bold step, the University has also decided to create one seat over and above the sanctioned intake in every undergraduate programme for offering admission to central and state board toppers.
