New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has relaxed the eligibility criteria for admission into the Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA). As per the new rule it would not be mandatory now to have Certificate in Computing (CIC) to get admission into BCA and MCA courses offered by IGNOU.
According to the new criteria, those who have completed their Intermediate with or without Mathematics as a distinct subject or vocational course in computer techniques or applications, or its equivalent course without Mathematics are eligible to apply for BCA. Graduate in any discipline would be considered eligible to apply for MCA at IGNOU. However, those who did not study Maths as a separate subject have to register for MTE-03 paper in the first semester. Moreover, students who have not studied Maths as a core subject in their intermediate level are required to pass the CS-60 paper, which is offered in MCA.
