Bhubaneswar: Berhampur University, Orissa and Riverside University of California have come in association with each other, in order to work together in the area of research and faculty development.The agreement has been signed for five years, initially, and can be extended later on.
B. K. Sahu, Vice-Chancellor - Berhampur University, said that the agreement will allow students and faculty members from both the institutions to go to the other for study and research. He also added that initially, only the MBA department will avail of the benefit. During the initial days, both the universities will hold joint academic events, such as seminars. Later on, it will be expanded for collaborative academic research and exchange of scientific information.
According to Raj Singh, Vice-Chancellor (VC) - Riverside University, the agreement is a win-win situation for both the universities. It will also help the business students from the USA, as more companies are setting shop here. Initially, it will start with exchange program, which will be expanded later on. He further mentioned that the university is also looking for tie-ups with other Indian universities, like Allahabad Agricultural University.
