DU Admissions 2009 - More Than One Lakh Forms Sold

New Delhi: Approximately one lakhforms have been sold for 49,000 seats available in Delhi University (DU) affiliated colleges. Number of forms sold out were more than double the seats, and it speaks volume of the popularity of DU among the students across the nation. Moreover, students continue to flood the information centers of the university.
 
Seema Parihar, Deputy Dean Students' Welfare, said that a total of 115,149 forms were sold at 16 centers spread across the capital till Tuesday evening. Despite being aware of the fact that only 49,000 seats are offered by the university, the response of the students has been great. Still there are five more days to go.
 
As per the sources,in total there are 1500 seats reserved for the disabled students. However, only 230 forms for students applying through the physically handicapped category have been filled. She further mentioned that, over the passing year a decrease in the sale of number of forms filled for the physically abled category is noticed. Due to which more than half the seats go waste every year.
 

DU has set special help desks for the specially abled aspirants in the arts faculty area of the university. Moreover, counselors have also been appointed at each desk to help out candidates in filling the forms.
