New Delhi: Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) on Wednesday proclaimed that the pen and pencil format of Common Admission Test (CAT) would no longer be in effect. However, for those who could not appear for the test during the scheduled test window, this year, would be given another chance in mid-January.
Sameer Barua, Director of IIM-Ahmedabad, informed that IIMs would be conducting a retest in mid-January, for all those students, who could not take the CAT. The retest will also be computer based. Pankaj Chandra, Director IIM-Bangalore further added that online test would be the future of CAT and that this was the only way to take a step forward.
These remarks were mainly made as several students could not appear for CAT, which went online for the first time this year, due to technical glitches.
