New Delhi: On Monday i.e. November 22, 2010, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said that the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) will be conducted online on a limited scale next year for admission into various technology institutes and deemed universities.
As per sources, the online exam will have the option for approximately one lakh candidates to appear in the exam on first come first serve basis. Further, sources told that CBSE will conduct the written exam on April 24, 2011, however, the online exams will be held from May 1 to 15, 2011.
A CBSE Official said that for the first time, the Board has also made a facility available for appearing in online examination for one lakh candidates on first-come-first-served basis in selected 20 cities, with a maximum of 5,000 per city. In addition, sources informed that the information on the exam will be available from December 15, 2010.
The information will be available at various banks, educational institutions and regional offices of the Board. However, submission of online application will be available from November 23, 2011 on the AIEEE official website, sources added. Furthermore, sources told that over 11 lakh candidates are predicted to appear for AIEEE exam in its 10th edition next year, seeking admission to engineering courses.
