Delhi Technological University (DTU) will enroll foreign students, non-resident Indians (NRI) and persons of Indian origin (PIO), from the upcoming new session commencing from 2010.

DTU Welcomes Foreign Students from the New Session 2010

New Delhi: Year 2010 onwards Delhi Technological University (DTU), earlier the Delhi College of Engineering, would enroll foreign students, non-resident Indians (NRI) and persons of Indian origin (PIO). In a recent meeting, the academic council of the university decided that 15 per cent of the seats, over and above the sanctioned intake would be reserved for such candidates. P.B. Sharma, DTU Vice-Chancellor said that the admission of foreign students will facilitate and enhance cultural exchange between the students and give them a global perspective.
 
In order to safeguard the academic merit of the institution, all admissions would be based on merit. Hence, a candidate needs to score a minimum of 60 per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Maths (PCM) and have a valid Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) score to be eligible for a seat. The university will also be admitting foreign students, non-resident Indians (NRIs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs) in its post-graduate courses. Students are required clear GATE or GRE to be eligible for admissions to the university.
 

As per sources, foreign students, non-resident Indians (NRIs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs) seeking admission to the undergraduate courses of the university would have to pay an amount of $3,500 per annum as compared to Rs 30,000 per annum that an Indian student would have to pay. Those applying for PG courses would have to pay $4,500 per annum as compared to Rs 33,000 per annum for an Indian student. Moreover, these students would also be provided with the facility of single-seater separate boys' and girls' hostels.
