The sale of the application form commenced at DU commenced on May 28. The last date for the forms to be submitted is June 11. The highest number of forms being received at the Faculty of Arts with 2,568 forms, followed by Kirori Mal College, with around 2,000 forms submitted. Dinesh C. Varshney, Deputy Dean of Students' Welfare at DU South Campus, has mentioned that the rush of students to submit the DU admission forms at South Campus was no less than that of the North Campus.
The approaching last date of submission and the current pleasant weather is the main reason of such a huge rush. The number of students that had come to submit their application forms were so many that an additional window had to be opened at the Office of the Dean, Students' Welfare. According to a student volunteer, many of the forms that were submitted on Monday were from outstation candidates, who had come overnight to submit forms and were leaving on the same day itself.
However, a separate procedure for admitting students is used by St. Stephen's College. The College too recorded a higher number of students submitting forms as compared to previous years.
