New Delhi: The first day of online Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010 has passed without any technical glitches. As per sources, this is the second year of CAT being conducted online. The first online CAT was conducted last year, in 2009. Further, sources told that more than 8000 students retook the test last year due to major technical faults.
Vinayak Kudva, Product Head at CAT coaching institute IMS, told the sources that this year, the number of technical problems faced by test takers was fewer than last year. In addition, he told that the support staff at the test venues was better equipped to handle the glitches this time round.
Moreover, Mr. Kudva recommends the students, who are appearing for CAT this year, to be prepared to face any kind of technical problems. Further, he said that he would recommend students to be mentally prepared for technical glitches and understand that their chances will not get hampered by it.
As per sources, with longer operational trials and technical preparedness, the tests are anticipated to be smooth this year. Furthermore, sources told that a practice test paper was also released by Prometric, the US-based IT firm responsible for the online format.
