Over Two Lakh Candidates Register for CAT 2010

Lucknow: On October 26, 2010, an official said that more than two lakh candidates have registered themselves for the online Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010. The online CAT 2010 will be commencing from October 27, 2010 till November 24, 2010. As per sources, the responsibility of organizing the CAT 2010 is with Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata and IIM Lucknow.
 
Himanshu Rai, Convener CAT 2010 and Professor IIM Lucknow, told the sources that with around 30000 registrations, Maharashtra has the highest number of candidates, followed by Uttar Pradesh with around 26000 candidates. In addition, he informed that Uttar Pradesh is followed by Delhi (19000 candidates).
 
Further, Mr. Rai told that a total of 204267 candidates have registered for CAT 2010, which will be organized in two slots from Oct 27 to Nov 24. As no test will be conducted on festivals and other occasions, CAT-2010 will be a 20-day affair. As per sources, 40 different sets of question papers have been prepared for CAT 2010.
