New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will start a certificate programme in the field of water harvesting, in upcoming academic session 2010-2011. According to the University press release, the course will train people in various water harvesting techniques.
Sanjeev Pandey, coordinator of the certificate programme, said that IGNOU is conducting a six-month certificate programme in water harvesting in order to guide students in controlling the severe problem of water crisis, particularly in urban areas.
By indicating the features of the programme, the university aims to educate people on proper utilization of water resources. Through this programme, the young aspirants will learn necessary skills and expertise in understanding of water harvesting techniques. Moreover, the certificate course will cost Rs 1600 and the minimum eligibility requirement will be tenth pass.
