New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Vancouver-Canada, will be organizing the Sixth Pan-Commonwealth Forum (PCF6). The topic of the Sixth Pan-Commonwealth Forum is ‘Open Learning’. PCF6 will be commencing from November 24, 2010 and will go on till November 28, 2010. It will be organized at Kochi, Kerala.
As per sources, Access and Success: Global Development Perspectives to Learning for Development, with four broad themes: Social Justice, Community Development, Skills Development and Formal Education, will be the key subject of the PCF6. In addition, an international exhibition shall be organized with 50 exhibition stalls, for the first time in India.
Nearly 700 delegates from 70 countries are expected to participate in the PCF6. The delegates include keynote speakers, eminent academicians, researchers, policy makers and practitioners. The keynote and invited speakers are the reputed academics and educational leaders, including Nobel Laureates and other celebrities.
Sources told that the first 5 PCFs were held in Darussalam, Brunei (1999), Durban, South Africa (2002), Dunedin, New Zealand (2004), Ocho Rios, Jamaica (2006) and London, United Kingdom (2008), respectively.
