Kolkata: Indian Institute of Management - Calcutta (IIM-C), on Sunday i.e. March 9, 2010, the concluding day of the placement session has bagged 91-plus offers over the two days. The slot-zero placement process at IIM-C took place across two days, March 6 & 7. While day one Slot Zero saw some 51 offers, the second day of Slot Zero saw over 40 offers, both, excluding pre-placement offers.
As per sources, Tata Administrative Services’ Leadership Programme was the biggest recruiter at IIM-C on the second day, making six offers. FMCG companies, including HUL, P&G, Nokia, Johnson & Johnson and ITC were amidst the other recruiters. HUL and P&G made four offers each, excluding PPOs. Finance companies continued their appointment fling with American Express being the major recruiter in the finance realm, with as many as six offers. Apart from that, Standard Chartered and HSBC made multiple offers. However, so far, Accenture, at 11, has made the highest number of offers.
In a press release, Prof Prafulla Agnihotri, Chairperson of the Placement Committee at IIM - C has said that the mood on campus has seen a considerable lift with more than half the student population having obtained their dream jobs, with just two days of the process complete. Among the remaining students, a large number have offers in hand, which were made during the laterals process. Prof Agnihotri also added that the memories of last year are fading away and the future looks brighter.
