Gandhinagar: According to an official, the directors of all the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in India are seeking to review the first online CAT (Common Admission Test) exam in a meeting that might be scheduled in next month. The venue for the meeting is yet to be confirmed.
Satish Deodhar, the convener of the CAT-2009 examinations, said the decision of continuing online tests or not, despite of the complaints this year, is likely to be taken by the directors. They might also review IIMs partnership with Pro-metric, to conduct online test.
By describing CAT-2009 ‘successful’, Deodhar added that for the first time, some mistakes do happen, but they can be corrected in time. Some questions have been raised by the candidates regarding the transparency of the online tests, but there had been no wrong decision that was taken.
Furthermore, many RTI queries have been filled regarding the online CAT test. Deodhar said that the CAT scores of the candidates were calculated through best international testing practices. However, if there is any authentic complaint filled on CAT score, Pro-metric will be asked for re-evaluating the score of the candidate.
