New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) cautions students against buying the duplicate admission forms available in the market. The University has lodged a complaint against the doubtful booksellers in the capital for selling duplicate admission forms of the university worth Rs 1000 each to the applicants. Originally these forms are designated to be sold from the Punjab and Sindh Bank branches, but according to a source, students buy them from street book corners located in Laxmi Nagar, Dwarka and Jamia Nagar.
As per sources, the police have cited to perform their initial investigations first and only then would be registering a case. According to the statement of Neeraj Thakur, Additional Commissioner of Police (crime), a written complaint is needed to pursue the case further. He added that the department has asked the university to file a written complaint first.
The university sources reveal that they have already received more than 300 fake forms with fake serial numbers. A senior official said that although the forms, which the university has received from the applicants carries a valid serial number, the designated banks are yet to release the original form with the serial number. The fact that these forms, with similar serial numbers are already available in the market and have even been submitted by the applicants proves that there are two sets existing, out of which one is obviously fake.
