Andhra Pradesh: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, has postponed the mid term exams for Bachelor of Technology (B Tech)/Bachelor of Pharmacy (B Pharm) II and IV year I semester. The exams, which were scheduled on November 1, 2010, will now be conducted on November 9, 2010 (the timing of the exams will be the same). Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) was established on October 2, 1972, by an Act of State Legislature. The university was originally named as Hyderabad Polytechnic Institute, before it was rechristened to JNTU. Government Engineering Colleges at Anantapur, Kakinada and Hyderabad and Government College of Fine Arts and Architecture (Hyderabad) became integral parts of JNTU.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, situated in Hyderabad, is the first technical university in India.
