90% Seats Filled on First Day of Admission at SRCC

New Delhi: On the first day of admission at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) more than 90% of the seats are filled in General Category. It seems that even the high cut-offs at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) really meant nothing for its aspirants.
 
The college expects to fill rest of the seats in the next three days still left for admission under the first list. As per the sources, General category aspirants required at least 96% (non-commerce students needed 100%) to get a seat in B Com (Honours) and 95.25% for admission in BA (Honours) economics.
 
At the SRCC admissions desk, there numerous candidates who had scored much more than the cut-off as after the first day of admissions there are just 25 seats left in B Com (Honours) and 11 seats in Economics (Honours) in the general category.
 
According to the sources, on Day 1, the college (SRCC) admitted 288 students against 314 seats in the General Category, of these, 189 were girls. In total, the college confirmed admissions of 325 candidates (including General, OBC, SC /ST and Differently-abled) on Thursday while the total number of seats is 624.
 
P C Jain, Principal of SRCC said that still there are three more days to go. He said that the college had already sold 612 (for General and OBC) admission forms on Thursday, in which some paid the fees and secured admission while most other will come back in a day or two. Furthermore, SRCC was the only college admitting students till 6.30 in the evening while most other colleges on the campus had called it a day.
