University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University, West Bengal, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) course, to be offered in the ensuing session 2011. The course is being offered in the Department of Museology, to be offered in the session 2011. Admission will be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the entrance test followed by an interview, to be conducted by the University.
Note: All candidates should note that candidates who have already passed UGC (JRF) Examinations/ NET/ SET/ SLET or equivalent examinations or passed the MPhil or equivalent examination are not required to appear in the written examination and can directly appear in the interview.

How to Apply
Interested candidates can download the prescribed application/pro-forma form from the University’s official website: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/. The application fee is Rs 100 which is to be paid through proper challan obtainable from the University cash counter. The duly filled in application form, along with the counterpart of challan and requisite documents (details given in the website), should be submitted latest by November 22, 2011.
